The Bachelor: Is Christina Misunderstood?

From an overnight slumber party to a powder puff football game, this episode had a little bit of everything. And tears, plenty of tears…..

Solo Date #1 with Katie

The show starts off with a very special one on one date with Katie which leads to them camping out overnight. I have to tell you, Zach is pulling no punches early on in this season and pretty much doing whatever he wants.  Last week was a hometown date, as Christina met his family, and this week he is “shacking up” with Katie.

Before the camp out, I think they had what I felt to be an awkward dinner. Katie has some serious baggage left over from a previous and bad 7-year relationship prior to coming on the show.  Against my better judgement, Zach gave her a rose anyway.  I’m sorry, but I feel Katie may need therapy before she needs to jump into a high-profile relationship.

If I’m Zach, I’d be seriously worried about anything I do that is going to set her off, and cause her to overreact fearing the worst is coming back from he past.  I just cannot be around that type of constant worry. This was their first date, and she was already bawling her eyes out about the past.  No thanks!

Group Date

Charity made a comment that she doesn’t like being in a house full of women.  Well, if she is going to go far on the show and judging by her looks and personality, she most likely will, she will have to get used to sharing a bathroom and quick showers. Also tears and fake laughs, plenty of fake laughs. I’m a Charity fan, I’d like to see her go far. She did get the group rose however, which leads me to believe we will continue to see her for quite some time. GOOD!

Elsewhere on the group date, we saw some kissing and tackling, not in that order anyway.  The powder puff football game was sadly no different than years past.  I love football, but this “gimmick” is getting kind of old.

Bailey used the night portion of the date to let him know that their relationship has regressed.  He didn’t bother to answer but instead opted to make out with the next girl to walk in. She found him later in the night however and brought it up again.  This was a mistake, as Zach was unwilling to string her along, to his credit, he let her down easy before she could get her heart broke.

Elsewhere, Christina continued to talk about her solo date last week with Zach which gets under the skin of the others.  Just a bit….. But, she is being honest, what is wrong with that?  She is not there to root for other people to win. She wanted the rose, what is wrong with that?  She’s a competitor.

Solo Date #2 with Ali

They got dressed up and jumped out of a plane together.  That was kind of “neat”.  I’m sure they had some training beforehand that was not shown as well.  It was then off to a hot tub, the same one they use every year, but with water that hot, how many germs are still floating around?

Either way, it didn’t matter, because it looked like Zach was falling hard for Ali and the romantic Griffen Palmer song put a nice cherry on top of the romantic sundae!

The Beach Party

In the end, it was fun in the sun with a pool party. Brianna was ready to check out but made sure to throw Christina under the bus before she did so.  Zach put up no fight to keep her around however but didn’t hesitate to investigate the Christina matter a bit more.

The women seemed emotional with her leaving, and Christina takes the blunt of the blame.  I’m sorry, but I really do feel Christina is just misunderstood.  She’s genuine and happy to be with Zach when she has time with me.  Others see her as a threat, and right away, she is the “villain” of the show.  I think that is nonsense.  It was a fun party, and then, instant drama.  She ends up paying the price by getting sent home, because she made Brianna, a girl who didn’t want to be there any longer, feel uncomfortable. Just stupid!

Honestly, he let her go because he wasn’t ready to be a father to someone else’s kid yet.  That simple and found his excuse to run.  Christina got hosed.
