St. Ignatius created several scoring chances in the opening half, finishing with 14 shots on goal compared to just two for St. Edward. St. Ignatius’ Gavin Woodhams opened the scoring with 18:56 remaining in the first half, finding the top right corner of the net on a free kick.
St. Ignatius carried its momentum into the second half, continuing to control possession and create opportunities. Zacharias Capellas doubled the lead at 30:50, with Woodhams providing the assist to make it 2-0.
St. Ignatius added another goal from Jordan Terman with 11:10 remaining, pushing the lead to 3-0.
St. Edward responded quickly. Lev Kobiakov scored with an assist from Joe Gerrity at 10:56, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
St. Ignatius’ Terman scored again with 8:22 remaining to give the Wildcats back their three-goal lead. The Eagles’ Ben Crane answered just 20 seconds later, making it 4-2 with 8:02 left.
The final 10 minutes turned into a scoring frenzy, with three goals scored in less than three minutes. St. Edward continued to pressure St. Ignatius late, but the Wildcats were able to maintain their two-goal advantage.
St. Ignatius finished the second half with five shots on goal, while St. Edward also recorded five. The Wildcats also earned four corners in the second half and continued to create pressure through the final minutes.
St. Ignatius held on for the 4-2 victory over St. Edward.
