Smackdown Rebound 5-14-19

Tonight on this episode of Smackdown Live, Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens go face-to-face on the Kevin Owens Show. Also, there is a Fatal-4-Way between all of the Smackdown participants in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match!

The show opens up with Roman Reigns in front of the London crowd. Roman says he has unfinished business, and he isn’t waiting until Money in the Bank. He brings out The Miz, who says he’s happy to be on Smackdown again. He plugs his match with Shane McMahon, saying he has nowhere to run. This brings out Shane and Elias.

Shane McMahon says he is disgusted by The Miz, and bans Miz from the building. Elias then talks some trash toward Roman Reigns. Roman and Miz don’t leave voluntarily, so Shane and Elias bring out Daniel Bryan and Rowan to help get them out.

The four surround Miz and Roman, and beat them out of the ring before The Usos make the save. Rowan takes out Jimmy and Jey, but eventually the four are sent out of the ring by Roman, Miz, and The Usos.

Randy Orton makes his way out for the Fatal-4-Way Match.

Shane McMahon makes a handicap match between himself, Elias, Bryan and Rowan vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos, and if The Miz gets involved, the Steel Cage Match on Sunday will be canceled.

Orton cut a short promo before the match, Zelina and Andrade also say they will win on Sunday.

Fatal-4-Way: Randy Orton vs. ALI vs. Andrade vs. Finn Balor

Highlights:

  • ALI tricks Orton to attempt an RKO and hits him with a DDT off of the second rope.
  • Andrade has really loud chops to the chest.
  • There is a awesome exchange between Andrade and Finn Balor.
  • Andrade gets ladders out from under the ring, and the commentators remind everyone that it is No Disqualification
  • ALI attempts a crossbody onto Andrade but gets hit with a ladder mid air.
  • The fact that they are doing so many moves with a ladder makes it seem like they have a lot of plans for Sunday
  • ALI goes for the 450 Splash on Finn Balor, but he rolls out of the way and ALI rolls right into an RKO.
  • Finn hits a huge dive onto ALI and Orton, then Andrade sends Finn into the steel steps.

Finish: Andrade hits Finn with the Hammerlock DDT for the win. After the match, Andrade climbs a ladder to get to the briefcase, only for Ricochet from Raw to jump off the top rope onto the ladder! Ricochet then grabs the briefcase and celebrates at the top of the ramp.

Winner: Andrade

Carmella cuts a phone promo about how she will once again win Money in the Bank.

Kofi Kingston is backstage, and he is asking Xavier to stay in the back tonight when he is on the KO Show.

Charlotte then cuts a short promo on how she will win on Sunday, followed by a very nicely done video package to hype Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. WWE’s production team is always fantastic at these.

Elias, Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan, and Rowan vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos

Highlights:

  • Jey Uso tweaks his knee, and Elias hits him with a big clothesline.
  • McMahon’s team continues to work over Jey’s knee for a while.
  • Roman gets the tag and takes everyone out.
  • Elias tags out Rowan before he can even do anything.
  • Everyone begins to brawl and do their signature moves on each other.

Finish: Shane McMahon hits the Coast to Coast on Jey Uso for the win! They continue the beat-down, but since the match is over, The Miz makes the save with a chair.

  • Asuka and Sane work very well together.
  • Kairi Sane also has some really loud chops.

Finish: Mandy Rose asks to get tagged in, only to get quickly get rolled up by Asuka. The IIconics lose their minds laughing at Mandy and Sonya.

Winner: The Kabuki Warriors (ugh)

We get an attempted interview with Lars Sullivan, but the interviewer is too scared.

Kevin Owens hypes his interview segment next, asking if Kofi Kingston can actually stand on his own. He is then interrupted by The New Day’s music.

Kevin Owens Show with Kofi Kingston

Kofi is out before Kevin Owens, and somehow calls out Owens as the host. Owens doesn’t show, but then shows up on the screen. Owens says he notices that Kofi is alone at the worst time. He says that Kofi is only the WWE Champion because of The New Day. He cuts to a video package on why Kevin Owens will win on Sunday, and everyone he has destroyed on his way to the top.

Kofi says that the video proves nothing. He throws the office chairs out of the ring, and Kevin Owens actually comes out this time. He begins to come to the ring, but stops and turns around before anything happens. Kofi chases after him and they brawl.

Sami Zayn comes out of nowhere and begins to beat down Kofi. Owens is about to powerbomb Kofi onto the apron before Xavier Woods runs down to save him, but he is too hurt. Zayn and Owens continue to beat down the WWE Champion, while talking trash to him. Owens goes for a cannonball in the corner, but Kofi moves out of the way. Kofi takes out Sami with the Trouble in Paradise, and Kevin Owens retreats up the ramp as the show closes.

Overall: This wasn’t the best show, but the matches were entertaining and Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens ended the show on a high note.

Best Match: The Opening Fatal-4-Way

Worst Match: The Kabuki Warriors vs. Fire & Desire
