ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (August 24, 2026) – Rocky River High School and Westlake High School will
make history on Tuesday, September 8, when the Pirates and Demons take the court for a first-of
its-kind outdoor volleyball event at Rocky River High School Stadium.
The matchup will mark the first outdoor volleyball game for both schools and is believed to be
the first outdoor high school volleyball game held in the Cleveland area.
Freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams will compete throughout the evening, culminating
with the varsity match under the stadium lights.
The schedule is:
Freshman: 6:00 p.m.
Junior Varsity: 7:00 p.m.
Varsity: 8:00 p.m.
The event will bring the atmosphere of Friday night football to the volleyball court, with
cheerleaders and the band drumline joining the festivities. A raffle will also be held during the
evening.
The outdoor setting will offer student athletes from both schools a unique opportunity to
showcase their programs while bringing together the Rocky River and Westlake communities for a
memorable night of high school athletics.
