Rocky River Pirates Defeat Bay Village Rockets To Capture The HELM!

*** ROCKY RIVER AND BAY VILLAGE FOOTBALL PARENTS, WE’RE HONORED TO WRITE THIS BOOK ABOUT YOUR RIVALRY***

In the first quarter, Rowan McDougal sprinted with the ball for 25 yards, resulting in the first Pirate touchdown of the night. Soon after, Rocco Ereditario punched it in for the first Rocket touchdown from four yards out. The scoreboard remained untouched until the end of the first half when Rocket, Brendan Spellman carried the rock 5 yards to paydirt, bringing the score to 14-7.

At the beginning of the second half, Nick Disalvo darted into the end zone on a 7-yard run, a Pirate touchdown. Kicker, Tony Liva, made the extra point, evening the score at 14-14. Later in the second half, Spellman scored for the Rockets on a 12-yard run. Meanwhile for the Pirates Ryan Ricketti toted the rock for 70 yards to paydirt, tying the game at the end of the 3rd quarter.

As time expired in regulation, the Rockets missed a field goal attempt and the game entered overtime. The tension was so thick in Bay Village’s stadium, it could be cut with a knife.

Once the game entered overtime, Julian Patti ran the ball in for 10 yards and the Pirates regained their lead. Then the Pirates denied Bay Village’s attempt to tie the game, sealing the Rocky River victory.

Final score 28-21
