ROCKY RIVER, OH – It was a dominant Rocky River performance as the Pirates captured a 71-35 win over crosstown rival Bay. Leading the Pirates was the red hot Nora Bruder with 28 points, including 21 from downtown.
Libby Lang was a presence down low with 13 while Angelina Swallow finished with 11. Claudia poured in 9 while Olivia Dewey had 5 and Jane Frolo finished with 3.
Leading the Rockets was Madelyn Lee with 10 while Anna Spellman had 8 and Norah Trefz with 5. Anna Weingart and Catie Peterson each had 3 while Chloe Kazma scored 4 and Caroline Chilton 2.
It was a competitive first quarter with two minutes to go as River led 14-10. It was then that they got hot and finished it on a 5-2 run capped with a Bruder three ball who had 11 total points in the quarter.
The second quarter was all Pirates. A 4-0 River run was stopped by Lee before three foul shots from Bruder and a drive and foul bucket from Lang opened the lead to 29-16 with 5:09 to play. They spent the rest of the quarter adding on and built the lead to 40-20 by halftime.
The third quarter was dominated by the inside presence of the Libby Lang and the hot outside shooting as the Pirates went on a 17-5 run to start the quarter. A Roche three late in the quarter started the running clock and finished the quarter with the Pirates up 61-25.
The fourth quarter was even as the game finished up quickly with the Pirates ahead 71-35.

What a performance for the girls this evening, I was thinking this could be a good game . Bay I heard was on a streak of wins … I was wrong we outplayed and out coached bay for the win! Great job girls and coaching staff!!!
