Defense has been something that Olmsted Falls has brought with them to every game this season. It seems like every shot is contested and every pass is a tough one when you are playing the Bulldogs.  That was no different tonight as from the very beginning the Olmsted Falls defense was forcing Berea Midpark into tough shots and creating turnovers. Behind the great defense and ten points from Danielle Cameron, the Bulldogs had a 18-3 lead over the Titans after the first frame.

Olmsted Falls Coach Eaton said, “ I loved how we were competing at all times on the defensive end.”

They were competing and it never let up as again in the second quarter it was tough for the Titans to get anything going and it led to easy buckets on the other end. Reagan Braaten was able to find a little bit of a rhythm in the second quarter scoring six points, but it was still all Bulldogs as we headed to the locker rooms with a 32-11 contest. Danielle Cameron and Maddie Cerovac combined to double the Titans score as they had 22 points.

Coming out of the half down 20 points is tough for any team and motivation could be low. That was not the case for the Titans as they continued to fight. They began to trim into the lead to start the third behind their outside shooting. Emma Arnold and Rylee Szojka were able to each knock down two threes, but it was too little too late. Olmsted Falls would win the quarter by three and extend the lead to 49-25.

Even with the big deficit with not a lot of time to play the Titans kept competing. They were fighting for loose balls and hustling all over the court. Reagan Braaten was able to hit some tough shots as the teams went back and forth in the final frame. Olmsted Falls’ great start was just too much for Berea-Midpark and they would get the win 62-49. Danielle Cameron led the way for the Bulldogs scoring a game high 20 points.

The Bulldog defense has been to backbone to the success they have had this season.

Coach Eaton said after the game “ We are doing great from an effort standpoint. I think we can take that next step and be great from a communication standpoint.”

If they do that, this already lock down defense could make the clamps even tighter.
