Olmsted Falls opens the season with a commanding win over the visiting Solon Comets.

Olmsted Falls, OH – The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs opened the season in dominating fashion over the visiting Solon Comets on Friday night.

QUARTER 1:

It did not take long for the Olmsted Falls defense to mark their presence. In the opening possession, senior defensive back Andrew Bonness made a huge 15-yard interception to set up the Bulldog offense. Momentum was carried over as the Bulldogs senior Caleb Ellis ran the ball in for a 3-yard touchdown.

A quick stint on offense for the Comets, led to a punt on fourth down. The Bulldog offense picked up right where they left off, as junior quarterback Jimmy Rosol connected with senior Trent Hrabnicky for a 23-yard touchdown pass.

Solon wide receiver, Max Thompson, tried to get things moving for the offense, but the Comets found themselves with a short offensive drive and turning the ball over on downs.

QUARTER 2:

Olmsted Falls received the ball to start the second quarter on their own 1-yard line. This left the door wide-open for Rosol to punch the ball into the endzone for a quick touchdown run.

Solon opened up their second quarter offense led by junior quarterback Luke Kormuth. The Comets inched their way down the field, but the Bulldog defense had another demanding possession on the field, forcing the Comets into a fourth down punt.

Olmsted Falls senior Derek Neckar showed no signs of slowing down as he marched the ball down the field on numerous possessions to set up the offense. With a little over 8 minutes to go in the second quarter, Neckar ran the ball in for a 3-yard touchdown.

To close out the first half, the Bulldogs had another dominating possession offensively. Rosol and Bonness found themselves connecting once again for a big 20-yard touchdown pass, which would go on to set up the Bulldogs with possession in the red zone. The ball was handed off to Neckar for a short 1-yard touchdown run, tallying his second touchdown of the night.

QUARTER 3:

Olmsted Falls started off the 3rd quarter with a huge kick return by Hrabnicky. The Bulldogs would start off the possession with sophomore Ayden Rivera in at quarterback. The Comets came up with a huge defensive stop, forcing Olmsted Falls into a punt on fourth down.

The Comets defense would continue midway through the 3rd, where Thompson would force a fumble and recover it for a turnover.

QUARTER 4:

Solon started off the 4th quarter slowly making their way down the field, when the offensive exploded for a huge catch down field. Luke Kormuth found junior Braeden Springer wide open, where he took off for a 34-yard reception.

The Bulldogs would then answer with their own play, as the defense would force a Solon fumble, which was then recovered by Olmsted Falls senior Nick Walsh.

The Comets continued to battle on both sides of the ball, but ultimately fell short as the Bulldogs would win the game 35-0.

Olmsted Falls was led by senior Derek Neckar and junior Jimmy Rosol. Neckar ran for 88 yards, on 16 carries and 2 touchdowns. Rosol threw for 118 yards, on 9 of 10 passing with 1 touchdown
