Cole’s Players of the Game
Offensive – QB Justin Fields
Fields was once again precise and on point. Fields initially committed to Penn State before decommitting and going to Georgia prior to his time in Columbus. Not only was this an opportunity for the star quarterback to finally shine in Happy Valley, but also respond to big developments happening in South Carolina. With Trevor Lawrence out due to COVID-19, it allowed Fields a chance to gain more ground in the Heisman race and increase his chances of becoming the number one pick in the upcoming draft.
Fields was once again sharp; his footwork was better than ever, and he looked so comfortable. His delivery was exactly where it needed to be all night.
Defensive – DT Tommy Togiai
Last week Haskell Garrett shined and defensive tackle running mate, Togiai wanted in on the action. The big man finished the night with 7 total tackles (4 solo) and 3 sacks. The defensive front is answering a bunch of questions this season and look great. Togiai is an important part in that rotation.
