North Ridgeville, OH – North Ridgeville took care of business today, picking up a strong win over the Berea-Midpark Titans in a coed tennis matchup that was controlled from the start.
The Rangers set the tone early in singles play, sweeping all three matchups in straight sets and never really letting the Titans find any momentum. From the opening serves, North Ridgeville looked confident and in control, turning what could have been a competitive match into a one-sided result.
At first singles, Alex Malloy led the way with a dominant performance, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win. Malloy stayed aggressive throughout and didn’t allow his opponent many opportunities to get comfortable, setting the tone for the rest of the lineup.
In the second singles, Nate Palic delivered one of the most significant wins of the day. Palic cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win, completely controlling the match from start to finish. His consistency and pace proved too much, as he quickly secured another point for the Rangers.
Reuben Sarrett followed that up in third singles with a strong showing of his own, winning 6-1, 6-1. Like his teammates, Sarrett kept things steady and did not allow any major runs from his opponent, helping North Ridgeville complete the singles sweep. With the match already leaning heavily in their favor, the Rangers carried that success into doubles play.
The first doubles team of Ethan Stanulet and Daylen Byers continued the dominant trend, earning a straight-set win 6-3, 6-2. The duo worked well together throughout, using great communication and consistent play to stay in control. The Titan’s team, which consisted of Daler Rustamov and Elias Koenig played hard, but just couldn’t pick up the win.
The most competitive match of the day came in second doubles, where Berea-Midpark’s Joyce Richards and Eliot Barbeck pushed things to the limit. After splitting the first two sets, the match came down to a tiebreaker, where the Titans were able to edge it out and secure their only win of the day.
Despite that, North Ridgeville had already done more than enough to secure the overall team victory.
In total, the Rangers won four of the five matches, with the clean sweep in singles play serving as the difference. The strong start proved to be too much for the Titans to overcome, as the Rangers maintained control throughout the day.
With this win, the Rangers continue to build momentum early in the season. They showed they have depth across singles and doubles. If their singles lineup continues to perform at this level, North Ridgeville will be a tough matchup for many teams moving forward.
