North Olmsted used a strong second-half performance to pull away from Fairview for a 4-1 victory.
The two teams played an evenly matched opening half, with both sides creating scoring opportunities. North Olmsted struggled to find its footing early and occasionally passed up open shots, while Fairview applied pressure through several corner kicks.
Fairview capitalized on one of those opportunities with 18:53 remaining in the first half. Mia Gargiulo sent a corner kick to McKenzie Willis, who finished the play to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
North Olmsted continued searching for an answer and found one shortly before halftime. With 1:04 remaining, the Eagles earned a free kick, and Amaya Capps converted the opportunity to even the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.
The Eagles came out with more offensive pressure during the second half. North Olmsted created several opportunities during the opening 20 minutes before finally taking the lead. Esma Shahin scored off an assist from Caterina Sharp with 21:48 remaining, giving the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
Fairview attempted to respond, but North Olmsted goalkeeper Kaitlin Hammond made several saves to protect the lead. After recording five saves in the first half, she added seven more during the second half to finish the game with 12.
North Olmsted gained another scoring opportunity when Fairview committed a foul inside the box. Peighton Witwer converted the attempt with 7:38 remaining to extend the Eagles’ lead to 3-1.
The Eagles continued attacking until the final whistle. With only 20 seconds remaining, Emily Perog scored off a free kick taken by Amaya Capps, completing the 4-1 victory.
After entering halftime tied, North Olmsted controlled the second half and scored three goals to secure the win.
