North Olmsted Eagles Soar Over Lakewood On The Diamond

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles put up six runs in the fifth on its way to a 7-1 victory over Lakewood on Thursday.  North Olmsted Varsity Eagles’s offense in the inning came from singles by Gannon Graf and Luke Koerber and a walk by Dominic Costello.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles got things started in the second inning when Austin Leudtke singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles scored six runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive onslaught by North Olmsted Varsity Eagles was led by Costello, Graf, and Koerber, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Costello led the North Olmsted Varsity Eagles to victory on the hill. The southpaw surrendered one run on one hit over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six.  Alex Meyer threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Klasa took the loss for Lakewood. The hurler surrendered five runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out seven.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles collected eight hits on the day.  David Chalkwater, Graf, and Alex DeJesus each had multiple hits for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles.  DeJesus, Graf, and Chalkwater all had two hits to lead North Olmsted Varsity Eagles.
