The North Olmsted girls varsity soccer team opened up conference play with a tie against Buckeye 2 – 2 on Wednesday, August 28th. The Eagles struck first when senior Khunnita Chamroeun found senior Delaney Macke who scored. This goal marks Macke’s 5th straight game where she has scored at least one goal. Buckeye scored later in the first half, making the score 1 – 1 going into halftime.
North Olmsted came out strong in the second half and scored a goal in the first 40 seconds. The goal came from Khunnita Chamroeun when she recived a ball from senior Kendell Perkins. Shortly after, Buckeye found another goal which tied the game up at 2 – 2. Freshman goalkeeper Brigid Grabowski recorded 10 saves on the night.
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, September 4th, when they travel to Lakewood. The game will be played at Garfield Middle School. JV is set to start at 5pm and varsity at 7pm.
