Week 5 Predictions

Week 5 has 15 games, with the Panthers and Chiefs on bye. The week opens with Buccaneers–Cowboys Thursday night, then features the Eagles–Jaguars in London, a big NFC North rivalry, and several games with major injury implications.

This is a tough spot for Tampa Bay. The Bucs are 0–4, on a short week, and will again turn to rookie Jalon Daniels with Baker Mayfield officially ruled out because of his thumb injury. Daniels threw for 148 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs in his first start, but his mobility gives Tampa another dimension.
The last meeting was Week 16 of the 2024 season, on Dec. 22, 2024, at AT&T Stadium. Dallas pulled off a 26–24 upset over Tampa Bay.
That makes the 2026 rematch particularly interesting: the 2024 game was essentially a lesson in how Dallas’ defense and kicking game can keep it alive even when Tampa moves the ball better.
I’m going with the Cowboys in this one!

On to London on Sunday Morning, This is a huge early-season test for Philadelphia. The Eagles are 2–2 after blowing a 20–10 fourth-quarter lead against the Rams, while Jacksonville is 3–1 and has already knocked off several quality opponents.
The Jaguars are playing confident football under Liam Coen. They’re 3–1, and their defense has been particularly impressive, ranking seventh in the NFL in EPA/play entering Week 5.
Trevor Lawrence is also coming off a strong start to the season, and Jacksonville has already beaten Cleveland, New England and Cincinnati.
Eagles look like a shell of themselves all season!
Give me the Jaguars to win this one!

On to the main 1PM game on CBS during they’re singleheader week where, this is a 2–2 vs. 2–2 AFC measuring-stick game. Indianapolis is coming off a convincing 30–13 win in London, while Pittsburgh lost 27–24 to Cleveland on Thursday night.
Indianapolis is coming off a London game and now has to travel to Pittsburgh, while the Steelers have had the benefit of extra rest after playing Thursday night.
Last year they played, the 2025 game is a great warning for Indianapolis: Pittsburgh doesn’t necessarily need to outgain the Colts to beat them. The Steelers won despite being dominated in total yardage because their defense created short fields and their offense capitalized.
And there’s an interesting contrast with the upcoming 2026 matchup: Indianapolis gets another shot at Pittsburgh in the same building, making the 2025 turnover-filled loss an obvious reference point.
And remember the Colts were favored heavily last year at Pittsburgh!
I’m rolling with the Steelers even though they’ve been inconsistent, but the 10 days rest and being home is key!

This is one of the more intriguing games of Week 5. Chicago is 3–1, while Green Bay is 2–2, and the Bears are actually favored on the road despite starting their backup quarterback.
The rivalry produced three memorable games in 2025: Green Bay won the first, Chicago won the second in overtime, and then the Bears won the third game over the of the Packers with a wild-card playoff comeback.
Caleb Williams is out with a hamstring injury, so Tyson Bagent gets another start. Bagent was excellent against the Jets last week: 25-of-34 for 268 yards and helped Chicago win 23–12.
The Bears have been dominant running the football.
And Edgerrin Cooper is done for the year with a torn ACL.
That’s the formula for Chicago: run the ball, protect Bagent, and make Jordan Love beat them.
I’m going Chicago on the road! No Micah Parsons and Edgerrin Cooper helps me feel confident the Bears will have ease running the ball!

This is a fascinating 3–1 Raiders team going into Foxborough against a 2–2 Patriots team that just knocked off Buffalo on the road. Vegas is trying to prove its 3–1 start is legitimate, while New England is looking to build on its biggest win of the season.
Maye just put together one of his best games, throwing for 269 yards and 3 TDs while adding 54 rushing yards in the upset of Buffalo. His ability to extend plays and run makes him particularly dangerous against a Raiders defense that’s allowing 134.5 rushing yards per game.
The Patriots’ defense is the reason I wouldn’t simply pick Vegas because of the records. New England ranks 6th in total defense and 5th against the pass, while allowing only 19.3 points per game.
I still think the Raiders can make the playoffs, I don’t know about the Patriots. But I’m going with the Patriots in this one.

This is a fascinating AFC West matchup as we defy logic: Denver is 2–2, while Los Angeles is 0–4, but the Chargers opened as favorites before the market flipped to Denver -3.5.
The teams split their two 2025 meetings, with both games coming down to the final stretch.
Los Angeles has been one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments. Justin Herbert has only 816 passing yards, 4 TDs and 6 INTs, and the Chargers have scored more than 16 points only once. Their 70.0 passer rating is the league’s lowest.
Denver’s run defense has been vulnerable, allowing 571 rushing yards at 4.76 yards per carry. That makes Omarion Hampton a potentially huge factor. He’s already rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns.
The Broncos haven’t exactly been explosive offensively either. Bo Nix has 819 yards, 5 TDs and 3 INTs, and Denver is averaging only 81.2 rushing yards per game.
Denver’s best path is to let its defense control the game. The Broncos already have four interceptions, tied for fourth in the league, and they’ll have opportunities if Herbert continues forcing throws.
Denver is the better team right now, but I don’t expect a blowout. If Los Angeles can run the football and avoid turnovers, this could be a one-score game deep into the fourth quarter. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chargers pulled the upset. But I’m still going with the Broncos.

We have a legit 4:25 game here on FOX!
This is an NFC West heavyweight matchup: San Francisco enters 4–0, while Seattle is 3–1 and the defending Super Bowl champion.
In the 2025 season series, the 49ers and Seahawks played three times, and Seattle won the final two punching the 49ers in the mouth, after San Francisco took the opener.
Brock Purdy has been outstanding through four weeks, and San Francisco’s ability to run the ball should be important against Seattle’s zone-heavy approach.
Lumen Field is a difficult environment, and the Seahawks are favored by roughly 3 points in the early market.
* Nick Bosa: He’s listed as out, which is a major loss for San Francisco’s pass rush. Seattle has injury questions of its own, including DT Leonard Williams.
* Revenge factor: Seattle demolished San Francisco twice last January, including a 41–6 playoff win, before going on to win Super Bowl LX. The 49ers insist they’re treating this as a normal division game, but the history adds plenty of intrigue.
Very concerned about Seattles lack of explosive running game heading into this one without Kenneth Walker who’s in Kansas City. And without rookie Jadarian Price.
Plus the 49ers are no strangers to winning in Seattle!
And the 49ers aren’t injury riddled like they were last year!
I expect a heavy weight battle.. this is a tough one to choose.. but I’ll say the 49ers.

This is a very different Ravens team if Lamar Jackson can’t go. Baltimore is 3–1 and ranks 5th in the NFL in total offense, but Jackson’s ankle injury has him out of practice and Tyler Huntley is currently expected to start.
The biggest question. Huntley played efficiently in relief last week, but Atlanta can focus heavily on stopping Derrick Henry if Jackson isn’t available.
The Falcons just destroyed New Orleans 45–24, and they’re playing at home. They’re 2–2 but have looked much better offensively over the last two weeks.
They’ve looked like a different team since
Micheal Penix Jr came back. I’m rolling with the Falcons in this one! Feel like people are sleeping on the Falcons in the wide open NFC South!

This is one of the better games on the Week 5 slate: Buffalo is 3–1 and Los Angeles is 2–2, with the Rams currently around -3 and the total at 54.5.
Two years ago, the last time these teams played, this was an absolute shootout classic. The Rams ended Buffalo’s seven-game winning streak despite Josh Allen putting together one of the greatest games of his career. With the Rams winning that game.
Allen has thrown for 1,039 yards and 6 TDs, while Buffalo is averaging an NFL-best 31.8 points per game. But the Bills have struggled to stay on schedule the past two weeks.
The Rams are hopeful their veteran defensive tackle will return, which could be a significant boost against Buffalo’s offensive line.
The Rams have the home-field edge and the more consistent offense over the last couple weeks, but giving Josh Allen a full field goal feels generous. Buffalo’s turnover problems are the biggest threat to this pick.
I still can’t give up on the Rams even though they’ve been shaky at 2-2. I believe they turned a page with a win at Philly last week! Give me the Rams to dazzle on Monday Night!
That’s Week 5 enjoy everyone!
