by Starting off strong, Akron moved the ball down the field to the MSU 42 yard line. Akron QB DJ Irons threw a pass to WR Daniel George where he caught the pass but fumbled the ball and it was scooped up by the Spartans LB Cal Haladay. Haladay ran the ball back to the Zips 42-yard line.
The Spartans took possession and ran 4 running plays; this granted a 2-yard touchdown run by Jarek Broussard. The Spartans extra point was good and makes the score MSU 7 Akron 0 with 10:03 left in the first quarter.
On the next Zips possession, Irons threw a pass to WR Shocky Jacques-Louis where he gained 21-yards before the ball was stripped from him and is recovered by the Spartans DE Maverick Hansen on the 50-yard line. The Spartans moved quickly down the field and a touchdown was scored by RB Jalen Berger on a 4 yard run. The score was now Spartans 14 Zips 0 at the end of the first quarter.
Spartans QB Thorne was pressured heavily on the Spartans next drive and he got hit as he threw the ball. This was intercepted by Zips DE Zach Morton and gots returned to the Zips 45 yard line.
The Spartans scored again after a Zips fumble with a 1 yard run by RB Jalen Berger. The score is was MSU 21 Akron 0 with 2:06 left in the 2nd quarter.
Spartans K Jack Stone finished the scoring of the first half with a field goal which made the score Spartans 24 Zips 0 at halftime.
Michigan State put in their backup QB Noah Kim and he throws a 16 yard dart to WR Tre Moseley in the end zone. Spartans 31 Zips 0 with 13;26 left in the third quarter.
It was all Spartans from there as they walked away with a massive 52-0 victory.
The player of the game today is Michigan State RB Jarek Broussard who finished with 17 carries and 107 yards. He also caught one ball for 5 yards and had 3 touchdowns.
