Medina Battling Bees Swarm the Euclid Panthers in a 40-0 Rout

As the Euclid Panthers marched into Medina to take on the Battling Bees, each of these teams have had different types of seasons thus far. Media was 5-0 going into the game while Euclid was the complete opposite at 0-5.

Medina got the ball to start, and it didn’t take long for this high-powered offense to get moving. The first offensive play of the game was a screen pass from Drew Allan to wide receiver Michael Rodak, who threw the ball down the field for a 67-yard touchdown. This one play drive helped the Battling Bees take not just the lead but the momentum as well.

Euclid would look good on a handful of plays but not enough to drive down the field. The team would be able to run by committee and reach over 100 yards in rushing total.

Junior QB Deonte Rucker struggled on the stat sheet, going 10 for 21 with 90 yards and 2 interceptions. Rucker looked promising at times as he was able to make plays happen with defenders in his face. Rucker and his young core of wideouts will continue to grow and gel together as we head towards the tail end of the year.

Medina added some surprise run packages to today’s game. Linebacker Matt Spatny lined up at tailback and scored two redzone touchdowns on the day. They used it when the pass offense failed to start the way the Battling Bees expected.

Penn State QB commit Drew Allar had a day once again for the Bees as he would go 18 for 25 with 225 yards and 3 touchdowns. He did also throw an interception. Allar was able to move well on his feet and create plays outside of the pocket. The Bees used screen to gain short yards to set up throws down the middle for Allar and his wide receivers.

Allar would throw a touchdown pass in the 3rd quarter to start the running clock and end the day for the Bees starting unit. That would end up being the final score of the game making it 40-0 in favor of the Battling Bees.

The Panthers fall to 0-6 on the season, still trying to find their first win on the season. Euclid has a team with talent but has struggled to put it all together. They played hard for all four quarters, not letting Medina walk right over them in the latter stages of the game. Next Friday they head over to Massillon to face the Tigers in a non-conference matchup.

Medina continues to dominate as they move up to 6-0 on the year. The passing attack from Allar has been nearly unstoppable at this point in the season. The Battling Bees travel to Mentor to prove that it’s their conference for the taking.

Player of the week for Medina once again is Drew Allar as he went 18 for 25 with 225 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Once his passing attack got going in the second quarter there was no stopping the future Nittany Lion.
