Hudson stays undefeated hurdling pass Brunswick 35-13

When looking at the undefeated Hudson Explores and the two-win Brunswick Blue Devils you’d think this game would be a blow out. It looked like it was heading that way in the first quarter as the Blue Devils looked to make this game a contest.

The Explores looked to strike first but not before getting stopped on four plays on the goal line by the stout Brunswick defensive line. The Blue Devils got the ball back but could not prevail on three straight possessions due to fumbling the ball all three times.

The Explores showed a trend on increasing their offensive chances and limiting the chances for the Blue Devils on offense. The Explores defense helped their offense by giving them a short field.

Ian Ludwig was the first to strike on for the Explores as he was followed by a 23-yard reception by Jack Jenkins and a 43 yard reception from Trey Sharp. These three talented Explorers helped their team jump to a quick 21 to nothing lead to start the game.

Brunswick fought back at the end of the first thanks to one of the most incredible interceptions you’ll ever see from SR Jack Safko who dove into the back field to intercept the pass from Jagger Pallay. This spectacular play set up the score for John Crawford to make the score 21-7.

Brunswick had another goal line stand, they remained strong when their backs are against the wall as they forced a missed field goal. With just about a minute left the Blue Devils running attack got them down the field as they launched a pass to Safko that gave them one last chance with 0.7 seconds left. The pass from Roksandich was a little long as they get the ball back at the start of the half.

The second half remained all Hudson as they trusted on their strong rushing attack to run away with this ball game. The rushing game that gave Ludewig 29 rushes 154 yards and a touchdown that was started off by another big play from Jack Jenkins. A 41-yard receiving touchdown by Jenkins who didn’t just run away from the defense but ran away with the ball game.

Brunswick scored one more time with a 27-yard rushing touchdown from James Toomey to make the score a little closer but couldn’t mount the comeback. The score ended 35-13 in favor of the Hudson Explorers who remain undefeated going 9-0 with one game left.
