The Hudson Explorers started their opening night out with a bang against Solon Highschool, giving them a great start to their upcoming season.

Right out of the gate on the Hudson Explorers, Jagger Pallay, scored the first touch down of the game hyping up the entire stadium. Hudson then completed the play, putting seven points on the board.

The energy in the stadium continued to escalate when Ian Ludwig of the Hudson explorers scored yet another touchdown giving them a 14-point advantage against the Solon comets.

The game became a defensive battle. Solons offense sputtered because of penalties as well as Hudson’s tenacious defense. Solon’s defense stepped up after the first quarter, and Brian Mcquaide and EJ Taylor scored in the third and fourth quarter, making the game close in the end. However, after Solon scored in the fourth quarter, the stadium was on edge.

The Comets decided to take the risk and go for the two-point attempt to advance in the game however, they failed to complete the conversion causing the Explorers to have the victory in the end. Hudson 14 – Solon 13.

In the very first quarter Hudson came out strong, scoring the ball with ease making the Comets look like they were intimidated by their skill and competitiveness. Solon then picked up on the defensive side and began to give Hudson a bit more of a challenge. In the second quarter no one scored the ball, but there were many deflections as well as interceptions from the defense.

The third quarter looked a lot like the second quarter, and continued to be a very defensive game for the Comets and the Explorers. Solon scored making only a seven-point difference in the game. Finally, in the fourth quarter Solon scores again making it a close game and a very exciting one! In the end the Explorer made their crusade to the top and pulled out the win.

Even though the Comets did not end the game on top, Brian Mcquaide had an excellent game with eight catches for 166 yards, aiding them in being able to stay in the game.

Also, Hudson Quarterback Jagger Pallay had an excellent game scoring a touchdown for the Explorers as well as making great plays throughout the game leading them to a win.

The Explorers will continue their voyage next Friday playing Euclid Highschool, and the Comets will play Shaker heights, hoping to redeem themselves from this tough loss against The Hudson Explorers.
