Historic Monday Night Raw Recap & Reaction

For the first time in 25 plus years, WWE Monday Night Raw was performed live at the WWE Performance Center with no audience. To say it was different, would be an understatement. Very limited talent was on hand, but those who were there did their best. Let’s breakdown what we saw.

Edge cut an in-ring promo on Randy Orton

This was every bit as passionate and effective as it would have been with a crowd of 50,000. Edge made us all remember just how good he is with this one as he challenged Randy Orton to a “falls count anywhere match” at WrestleMania.

This will be very interesting as they can go anywhere they want at the Performance Center. I also wouldn’t be shocked if they brought Mick Foley in to be a part of this one as Edge mentioned him numerous times.

The Undertaker and AJ Styles had a contract signing.

This was awful and almost painful to watch at times. The Undertaker looked horrendous and about 20 years over the hill. The only good part of this is the accurate insults from AJ Styles about Taker being selfish amongst other various issues with the Dead Man.

Rey Mysterio def. Andrade via pinfall

This was excellent. As the only live match on the show, I truly enjoyed it. Both men looked good and it is a different close up angle you get from the performance center with limited camera’s they can use. A whole new dynamic to the matches that I enjoy for now.

Becky Lynch cut an in-ring promo.

There isn’t anything this beautiful woman doesn’t do well. She is a five tool player and that will never change. Last night she proved it again!

Kevin Owens cut a backstage interview challenging Seth Rollins to a match at WrestleMania.

This was to be expected and good. Kevin Owens is slowly becoming the face of Monday nights. I wonder if this match would have been different if Samoa Joe would have stayed healthy and out of trouble. If WrestleMania does get suspended, I would imagine Joe can still get added.

Stone Cold In ring segment.

The worst segment in the history of Stone Cold’s career. This was horrendous and I’m pretty sure if it was done in front of fans it would have been every bit as bad.  The WWE would be wise to burn this part of the show and never show it again. YIKES!
