East Division

Offensive Player of the Week: Ohio QB Nathan Rourke

Ohio senior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) threw for three touchdowns and 215 yards and ran for 118 yards and another score in a 33-31 loss at Marshall in the ‘Battle for the Bell’ on Saturday.

Rourke’s three touchdown passes, and one rushing touchdown increased his career total to 84 career touchdowns, setting a new school record and breaking the record of 82 set by former quarterback Tyler Tettleton (2009-13).

Rourke has been responsible for at least four touchdowns in a single game nine times. He threw for multiple touchdowns in a game for the 14th time in his career and tallied at least three passing touchdowns for the sixth time. His 45 career passing touchdowns rank second in program history while his 38 career rushing touchdowns rank third.

The contest marked just the second time in his career that he threw for at least 200 yards and ran for at least 100 more. He passed Anthony Thornton (5,199; 1987-90) for the third-most career passing yards with 5,217.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Miami DL Kameron Butler

Miami sophomore defensive lineman Kameron Butler (Florence, Ky.) established career-highs across the board in a 35-13 loss to Cincinnati in the ‘Battle of the Victory Bell’. Butler posted seven tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss as the Miami defense held Cincinnati’s quarterback to just 186 yards passing and a season low nine rushing yards.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Kent State P Derek Adams

Kent State junior punter Derek Adams (Manheim, Pa.) averaged over 43 yards per punt on his seven punts in a 55-16 loss at No. 8-ranked Auburn. Adams dropped a pair inside the 20 and had a long of 54 yards.

West Division

Offensive Player of the Week:  Eastern Michigan QB Mike Glass III

Eastern Michigan senior quarterback Mike Glass III (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Eagles to its third consecutive win over a Big Ten Conference opponent on the road, defeating Illinois, 34-31, on Saturday. Glass was 23-of-36 for 316 yards and three touchdowns. With the game tied 31-31 with 1:44 left in regulation, Glass marched the Eagles down the field, putting together an eight-play, 68-yard drive in which he completed 4-of-4 passes, capped by kicker Chad Ryland’s 24-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

Glass ranks 10th in the nation in completions per game (25.67), which ranks second in the MAC, and 26th in the country in completion percentage (69.4%), third highest in the league.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Western Michigan LB Treshaun Hayward

Western Michigan junior linebacker Treshaun Hayward (Ypsilanti, Mich.) led with a career-high 15 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble in his first career start in a 57-10 win over Georgia State.  Hayward recorded his first career sack and was part of a defense that held the Panthers to 126 yards passing and only 10 points.  Western Michigan held Georgia State to 38 yards of offense in the second half.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Eastern Michigan K Chad Ryland
Eastern Michigan sophomore kicker Chad Ryland (Lebanon, Pa.) nailed a 24-yard game-winning field goal as time expired for a 34-31 win at Illinois on Saturday. Ryland has now used a last-second field goal to beat a Big Ten foe in consecutive seasons, after walking-off Purdue, 20-19, in West Lafayette, a season ago.  Ryland etched his name into the Eastern Michigan record books as he drained a career-long 52-yard field goal, which is tied for the second-best in school history and is the longest field goal since Dylan Mulder set the school record with a 55-yard field goal vs. Miami on Nov. 7, 2015.
