Five Bad Booking Decisions From AEW Double Or Nothing 2024

AEW held their signature event Double or Nothing tonight from Las Vegas.  As usual it packed some thrilling matches and a rowdy crowd.  Sadly, there were Five terrible booking decisions that didn’t help. They continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Thunder Rosa on the Preshow

Takeaway – How sad, two women who could be the face of a dying division, reduced to the preshow.  Both deserve better!

The Acclaimed defeated Cages of Agony

Takeaway – It was nice to see The Acclaimed get a big win on PPV, despite it being the preshow.  As for the Cages of Agony, they may be destined for ROH and not much else.

Will Ospreay defeats to Roderick Strong to capture the AEW international Championship

Takeaway – The belt known for the Orange Cassidy 326 day title reign in 2022 & 2023 is now with the hottest wrestler in Pro Wrestling.  Ospreay put on another cannot miss match and even mixed in a little drama towards the end when he refused to use the Tiger Driver.

It is apparent a split from the Callis family is coming soon as he just keeps whipping out banger after banger. AEW now has two of their biggest draws wearing gold as Kazuchika Okada is the current AEW Continental Champion. It is only a matter of time before those two go at it to unify the belts.

MJF returns to attack Adam Cole during his promo and let’s everyone know he is back and better than ever.

TERRIBLE BOOKING DECISION NUMBER #1

Takeaway – With AEW Dynamite ratings in the toilet, this return couldn’t have come soon enough.  The old MJF is back and this rivalry should be epic. MJF dropped an F bomb in letting us know he is resigned with AEW long-term.  I just have no idea why they had this happen so early in the night of an extremely long PPV.  By the end of the night, this was a distant memory.
