by Season Six Part One of Cobra Kai ended in dramatic fashion with a shocking turn. The Sekai Taikai has arrived and joining Cobra Kai is Tory Nichols for one more run with Kreese. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly the first four episodes as Tory and Sam began to bond, and she appeared to be at peace for the first time in years. It was not to be however.
It all ended up being a front for what was really going on at home for Tory, and it simply wasn’t good. It is revealed that her mother has passed away and it is greatly altering the way Tory acts and thinks in the part one finale during episode five.
It all breaks down for good as the episode begins with the Dojo having to choose captains for the Sekai Taikai tournament. To keep things as fair as possible, they go the way of High School and NCAA wrestling and have, “fight offs” between Robby and Miguel and Sam and Tory. The Miguel vs Robby fight goes well with Daniel as the referee. Robby comes out the victor in that one and finally gets past Miguel. Both young men take it well and everything seems fine.
The next fight for the female captain sees Tory begin to take things way past sparring as she starts attacking Sam once again, as this seems to be a common trend in the two’s history together. Despite Johnny as the assigned ref, Daniel steps in and tells Tory to calm down before someone gets seriously hurt. This upsets Johnny who wanted her to continue to fight that way as he understood what she was going through, having lost his own mother all those years ago.
It all leads to Tory quitting and storming off, while Johnny also announces he is leaving Miyagi Do after the tournament to do his own thing as Johnny and Daniel simply cannot see eye to eye.
