Cleveland Monsters Return To Calder Cup Playoffs

In 2016, the Lake Erie Monsters were part of Northeast Ohio’s magical run of championships, and near championships.  They swept through the playoffs to win the 2016 AHL Calder Cup.

This was part of a stretch that saw Stipe Miocic win the UFC Heavyweight championship, the Cavs win the NBA Finals and the Indians get within one win of the winning the MLB World Series.  A great run indeed.

Now, the “Cleveland Monsters” look to recapture some of that magic.  It took all season, but on the final day in Toronto they clinched their spot in this years Calder Cup playoffs.

The Monsters begin a 5 game series with the Syracuse Crunch later this week.
