3 Keys to the Cleveland Cavaliers 123-118 Victory over Sacramento
A strong third quarter
The Cavaliers survived a later fourth quarter push from the Sacramento Kings to hold on for the 123-118 victory. The Cavaliers led by 9 entering the fourth quarter after a sharp third quarter in which they had outscored the Kings 34-22 to go up and not look back. Starting the second half strong has been a major challenge for Cleveland this year and they need to make nights like tonight a trend.
Mobley remains the X Factor
The Cavaliers were led by Donovan Mitchell with 33 points while Evan Mobley stepped up big time with 29 points and 13 rebounds. When Mobley plays at that elite level, the Cavaliers become hard to defeat. Mobley continues to be the X-factor with the Cavaliers and when you get double digit scoring from fellow starters Tyson (17) and Allen ( 15), you’re going to be in every game.
42 points from deep
The Cavaliers got hot draining 14 from outside for 42 of their points. This helped combat the hot bench of the Kings that saw 61 combined points from Sabonis, Schroder and Monk who coupled with 20 from DeMar Derozen for the bulk of the Kings scoring.
What’s up next?
The Cavaliers will look to stay hot when they trave to Orlando tomorrow night.
