Buckeye’s Offense Explodes in a 17-0 Win Over Westlake

MEDINA, OH – It was all Buckeye from the start. In a dominant performance, the Buckeye Bucks were in control the entire game, shutting out the Westlake Demons in a 17-0 mercy-rule win.

Buckeye got going early at the plate. After a five-run first inning, they added on to their lead with seven runs in the second inning, dominating the game. They were able to string hits together and take advantage of every chance they had.

The Bucks continued to build momentum as the game went on. Consistent hitting and aggressive baserunning allowed them to add on in multiple innings, extending their lead and never letting Westlake find their flow. The entire game was in Buckeye’s control, and their confidence continued to grow.

While the offense impressed many fans, the Bucks’ defense and pitching were also on point. #8 Lilly Young delivered a dominant performance, throwing a complete game shutout. She went five innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven and not allowing a single walk. Her command and consistency kept the Demons off balance all game long, never allowing any real threat to develop.

Westlake struggled to generate any offense, managing just two hits on the day. Those hits came from #4 Trudy Rocco and #13 Lindsey Horvath. The Demons were unable to turn those opportunities into runs or build any momentum.

At the plate, several players stood out for the Bucks. #5 Juliana Melillo delivered in a huge way, driving in four RBIs on three hits, with one of those being a three-run home run. #23 Casandra Minarchick had a strong game, collecting three hits and scoring twice. #20 Kelsey Morano also made a major impact, finishing with two hits and five RBI’s on the day.

Additional contributions came throughout the lineup, highlighting a true team effort. Players consistently got on base, moved runners, and delivered in key moments to keep the pressure on Westlake from start to finish.

Buckeye’s combination of dominant pitching, outstanding hitting, and overall execution proved to be the difference in this game. It was a complete performance that showed the Bucks’ potential as they continue their season.
