Buckeye Bucks Defeat Parma Normandy Invaders 56-7 in Week 7 Victory

The Buckeye Bucks left no doubt on Friday night, overpowering the Normandy Invaders from the opening whistle and cruising to a 56-7 victory in Week 7 of Friday Night Football.

Buckeye entered the matchup at 2-4 and 2-1 in conference play, coming off a win over Valley Forge and looking to continue building momentum as the regular season moved toward its final stretch. Normandy entered at 0-6 and 0-3 in conference play, with the matchup also serving as Senior Night for the Invaders.

From the opening drive, Buckeye made it clear that its rushing attack was going to be the story of the night.

Running back Liam Phillips immediately became the focal point of the Bucks’ offense, carrying the ball three times on the opening drive and consistently picking up significant yardage on each attempt. Phillips was the centerpiece of the drive, moving the chains and keeping the Normandy defense on its heels before finishing the possession with a 25-yard touchdown run. He continued to punish the Normandy defense throughout the night, combining power and speed to consistently break through the first level and turn open space into explosive gains.

Buckeye’s defense quickly followed with a three-and-out, forcing Normandy to punt. Special teams then added to the early onslaught when Nick Prouza fielded the punt and raced 65 yards for a touchdown, giving Buckeye a 14-0 lead.

The Bucks forced another stop and went right back to their ground game. Running back Dennis Shevchenko helped move the offense down the field before Buckeye reached the Normandy 1-yard line. The Bucks finished the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run from the fullback, extending the lead.

Phillips then delivered another explosive play on the very next drive, taking his first carry 53 yards for a touchdown. His running style became increasingly difficult for Normandy to handle as the game went on. Phillips consistently ran through defenders while also showing the speed to outrun the entire defense once he broke into the open field.

By the end of the first quarter, Buckeye had established complete control.

The Bucks continued their assault in the second quarter. Dennis Shevchenko came up with an interception to give Buckeye another possession, and the Bucks wasted no time converting the turnover into points. On the first play of the ensuing drive, Tony Kobasuk took the ball 14 yards for a touchdown, pushing the advantage even further.

Buckeye continued to keep the ball on the ground on its next possession, methodically moving down the field before Shevchenko punched the ball into the end zone for another touchdown.

With Buckeye already leading 42-0, the Bucks began rotating their running backs while continuing to dominate at the line of scrimmage. Shevchenko helped move the offense with several substantial gains before finishing the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run.

Buckeye had scored every time it touched the ball, taking a commanding 49-0 lead into halftime.

The first half was a complete display of offensive efficiency and defensive dominance. Buckeye consistently won at the line of scrimmage, while Normandy struggled to find an answer for the Bucks’ rushing attack.

Buckeye continued to control the game coming out of halftime. Joe Stahl became the next running back to make his presence felt, picking up significant yardage on three consecutive carries and moving the Bucks deep into Normandy territory. His work set up Matche Diarrassouba, who finished the drive with another touchdown run.

Normandy finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter when quarterback Jakob Muniak broke free for a 41-yard touchdown run, putting the Invaders on the board and making the score 56-7.

The touchdown was Normandy’s lone offensive breakthrough of the night as Buckeye continued to dominate on the ground and control the game from start to finish.

The Bucks finished the night with an impressive 390 rushing yards, demonstrating just how dominant their ground game was throughout the matchup. Phillips led the way with 161 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, repeatedly breaking off explosive runs and setting the tone for the entire offense.

Buckeye’s balanced rushing attack also featured strong contributions from Shevchenko, Stahl, Diarrassouba and Kobasuk, giving Normandy multiple players to account for throughout the game.

The 56-7 victory improved Buckeye to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play, giving the Bucks another strong performance as they continue their push through the conference schedule. Normandy fell to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
