Journey Hildebrand led the Brunswick Blue Devils to an impressive 62-53 home victory against Amherst. The Comets overcame a 5-point deficit after the first to actually take a 34-30 lead into the break. The second half was all Brunswick however as they doubled up the Comets in the third 18-9 and then put them away in the fourth by outscoring them 14-10.
Journey Hildebrand caught fire for 31 points tonight in a game that she and Blue Devils won’t soon forget. Hildebrand is the type of talent that is once in a generation for Brunswick and will make them a dangerous out, come the playoffs. Hildebrand sunk 7 from beyond the arc and had the hot hand. Blue Devil teammate Ashlyn Dyson chipped in with 11.
Amherst continues to show improvement each game this season as they have a solid slate of shooters that keep them in every game. The Comets were once again led by the combination of Kayla Ferancy with 17 and Kristen Kelley with 15. Peyton Roberts looked strong tonight and finished with 8 while Bradyn Silvasy also had 8. Pleban had 3 while Darmos had 2.
Amherst will be back in action Wednesday night in North Ridgeville and Kee On Sports will be on the call.
