Bay Village Shows No Mercy; Tops Fairview Park 35-3

You kids are in the book if they played for Bay Village.

BAY VILLAGE, OH – The Bay Village Rockets hosted the Fairview Park Warriors for their homecoming game. The game was cold and rainy but everything went fine under the Friday night lights for Bay Village.

The ball started in Fairview’s hands to begin the game. After returning the kickoff to the 20-yard line, Bay Village freshman Charlie Rodgers intercepted the game’s first pass. At 11:08, Bay Village scored the first touchdown of the game courtesy of Brendan Spellman. Junior kicker Casey Medley added the PAT making the score 7-0 Rockets.

Fairview tried to keep the ball in their possession but could not seem to do so this game. After getting the ball right back, Bay Village scored their second touchdown of the night. Junior Mac Weingart found his way to the end zone and the first quarter wrapped up with a Rockets 14-0 lead.

The second quarter started in Fairview’s hands again. Bay Village once again quickly got the ball back. Senior QB Tony Buttari found junior wide receiver Charles Rice on a 67-yard strike. The big touchdown put the Rockets up three scores 21-0.

The final touchdown of the first half came by way of Buttari again. This time he found pay dirt with his legs. Both teams went to the locker room with a score of 28-0 Bay Village.

Fairview stepped up in the third quarter and looked different on their first drive of the half. The Warriors were much more aggressive and managed to secure three points on the drive with a field goal.

Freshman Charlie Rodgers scored his loan touchdown on the night and that would be the final points for either team. The third quarter would conclude 35-3.

The fourth quarter moved fast with a lot of possession changes. The rain had started up again in the fourth and you could see the water gathering on the field. The game proceeded but the offenses did not. Neither team scored any points or had any big play in the fourth quarter.

The 35-3 victory pushes Bay Village to 4-4 on the season and Fairview Park falls to 1-7.

  1. It’s about time Bay Village utilizes that QB’s ability with his arm and his legs, that kid can play. First few weeks the offense was so predictable with the RB. Nice win Rockets
