First Half

The Titans started the game with possession but the Eagles defense was ready from the jump. The Titans defense returned the favor by forcing a punt right back.

Shick and the offense came out after the defensive stop and opened the scoring. He located Brayden Cupach
on a 19-yard connection with a little over a minute left in the quarter.

This was the first time all season that the Eagles were shut out after one quarter of play.

To start the second quarter, Avon continued to make their presence felt on defense with an interception of Shick. On the ensuing possession for the Eagles, senior quarterback Sam DeTillio found senior wide receiver Braden Fitchko to score which tied the game at the 7:50 mark

Later in the quarter, DeTillio aired one out to senior tight-end Austin Mitchell for a 66-yard touchdown pass. It polished a four-play drive and put the Eagles up 14-7 into halftime.

Second Half

Both defenses continued their dominance to start that second half until DeTillio found senior wide receiver Drew Lindsey for an 18-yard touchdown. It capped off a 10-play drive to extend the lead 21-7 for the Eagles.

The Titans returned the ensuing kickoff to midfield, but the Eagles defense held strong. The next drive for the Eagles led into the final quarter.

DeTillio extended the lead to 28-7 by connecting with Ethan Holbrook for a 58-yard touchdown pass. After a turnover on downs by the Titans, DeTillio found Holbrook again This time in the form of a 28-yard hookup to put it out of reach with eight minutes to go.

Looking Ahead

Next up for the Eagles is a meeting with the Midview Middies on the road. Berea takes on the North Ridgeville Rangers at home.
