Are The Browns A Sure Thing To Make The Playoffs Again?

Draft and Free Agency have made them a serious contender.

Baltimore – Sorry Browns fans, I know you hate to read it, but the Ravens aren’t slowing down anytime soon.  Questions may remain about Lamar Jacksons playoff success, but he torched your defense twice last year.

Jackson is now 4-1 lifetime against Cleveland, who appears to be their toughest opponents in the division this season.  They have a Super Bowl winning coach and front office; the Ravens will be good for a very long time to come.  Accept the reality that is.

Arizona – The Cardinals were soaring towards a playoff berth last year in only their second year removed from picking Kyler Murray first overall.  The sophomore slump hit him late in the season and they cooled off.  I wouldn’t expect that to happen again, even with them playing in the NFL’s toughest division.  The Cardinals are on the rise and will make the playoffs this season.

Cleveland – The Browns have the talent and coaching to become the third best team in the AFC this season behind KC and Buffalo.  If a few things fall right, they may even sneak into the Super Bowl. The biggest questions remain around their secondary, and D-Line.  They appear to have addressed those issues in the draft this past spring.

Time will tell if Baker Mayfield and OBJ can finally make it work playing together.  Thus far they have not been able to make it work as Mayfield’s best games have come with OBJ in a different zip code.  If anyone can make it work, it is Kevin Stefanski.  I feel like a broken record at times, but I’ll say it again, time will tell!

Nick Chubb is a top five back in the leageu.  Myles Garrett is an NFL Defensive Player  o f the Year candidate, and Mayfield has grown into a leader.  Is this finally the year they win it all?
