AEW Double Or Nothing Preview & Predictions

Private Party vs Best Friends for a shot at the AEW Tag Championships

Summary – The Best Friends have been getting regular airtime during the COVID 19 empty arena stretch. Carrying the tag division in many ways while Adam Page and also the Young Bucks were nowhere to be found.

Private Party on the other hand have not been around for awhile so this seems like an odd placement for them. This leads me to believe Private Party will win for that exact fact, they wouldn’t be in this match otherwise.

Prediction – Private Party

Cody vs Lance Archer for the Inaugural TNT Championship

Summary – As much as I love the pairing of Jake The Snake Roberts and the amazing microphone work, I’m still not sold on Lance Archer the performer. Who has he beaten since arriving in AEW? They’ve made him a monster, but his only match worth of note is a win over Dustin Rhodes.

I wasn’t impressed with his work in WWE and he never broke through the glass ceiling. He pretty much did nothing of note while there. I simply don’t see the buzz with this guy, despite how hard they are trying to make him a monster.

He has been wrestling on big stages since 2004 with TNA and how many big matches can you honestly recall him having? His only one worth of note recently was earlier this year when he lost his NJPW title to Jon Moxley.

All this being accounted for, it doesn’t lend credibility to Roberts saying how his man has been held down and ignored by Cody. If they brought him in differently, still having Roberts with him but taking a different angle, it may have been easier to take him seriously.

Cody is the face of the company and has lost back to back Pay Per View matches as the Co Main Events. Here he is again in a major match, a title match at that. Do you really think he is losing three straight? I say no chance in Hell and he finds a way to take down the monster.

Prediction – Cody
