The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Boston Harbor FC has joined the league. The club will begin play in the 2027 season.
“The NPSL is excited to welcome a team to Boston’s North Shore,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera said. “The management team joins the NPSL with a keen focus on community engagement and creating opportunities through soccer. The club’s planned community focus will be on growth and opportunity through sport, access to health and wellness resources, and education. On the business side, the club has the benefit of an experienced and business-minded management team with deep access to technology resources and a history of successful fundraising. We are looking forward to the club’s development within the NPSL ecosystem.”
The team is led by Managing Partner Yinka Ojutalayo.
Ojutalayo is a healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and investor with extensive leadership experience in healthcare operations, venture investing, and business development. He serves as the Managing Partner of North Bound Ventures, where he focuses on building scalable infrastructure businesses. His vision for Boston Harbor FC is to establish a sustainable club that combines competitive soccer with strong community engagement and long-term organizational growth.
“Boston Harbor FC was founded to build a community-shaped club in a region with an incredible passion for sports and a wealth of soccer talent,” Ojutalayo said. “Coming off the excitement of the World Cup, joining the NPSL allows us to build on that momentum across Greater Boston and the North Shore while giving local players a platform to compete at a high level. Our responsibility as founders is to provide the infrastructure and resources, but we want our supporters to shape the traditions, atmosphere, and identity of this club from the very beginning.
Boston Harbor FC has been intentional about surrounding the club with people who understand both the business of sport and what it takes to build a club that matters locally. As part of that effort, the club is working with Crooked Point, a sports business advisory firm, to support corporate strategy, commercial partnerships, and long-term growth.
Boston Harbor FC will provide opportunities for collegiate athletes, aspiring professionals, and elite local talent to compete at a high level while representing their community with pride. Player development will be central to the club, combining strong local recruitment with experienced coaches and international relationships to create opportunities for greater exposure domestically and abroad.
The organization embraces innovation in fan engagement through digital media, live streaming, data-driven operations, and strategic partnerships, including XI Labs, a football technology platform connecting players, clubs, and opportunities across the broader football ecosystem.
“The NPSL represents exactly what we were looking for, a nationally respected league that values ambitious clubs, local identity, and long-term sustainability,” Ojutalayo added. “We believe the league provides the ideal platform to build a competitive organization while creating opportunities for collegiate, amateur, and aspiring professional players. We share the NPSL’s vision of growing soccer organically within communities and believe Boston Harbor FC can contribute meaningfully to that mission.”
Home matches will be played at Captain John Bertram Athletic Field in Salem, Massachusetts. The venue is located in the heart of Boston’s North Shore.
