Strong Doubles Play Lifts Berea-Midpark Titans Past Padua Bruins in Competitive Tennis Matchup

BEREA, OH –  The Berea-Midpark Titans found a way to get the job done, using strong doubles performances to take down the Padua Bruins in a competitive coed tennis matchup.

Even though the Bruins came out strong in singles play, the Titans responded in doubles and turned the match in their favor.

In the first singles, Artem Fedoriouk picked up the impressive win for the Bruins, taking the match 6-2, 6-1. He went against Daler Rustamov from Berea-Midpark. Fedoriouk stayed in control throughout the match and gave the Bruins a point. Marco Torres also got the job done in singles play, defeating Elias Koenig 6-1 to 6-4. Berea-Midpark got the win from the third singles matchup because Padua had to forfeit due to not having enough players.

In first doubles, Lexi Hall and Dino Agelidakis stepped up with strong performances for the Titans, winning 6-1, 6-2. They went up against Padua’s Kerry Wang and Jack Salyard. They controlled the match from start to finish.

The second doubles also went the Titans’ way. Joyce Richards and Hank Luk kept things rolling and earned the 6-3, 6-2 straight-set win against Anthony Gale and Lucas Blau-Fuldauer. They played consistently and did not let Padua come out with the win.

Even after dropping points in singles, Berea-Midpark got the job done in doubles. Those two matches ended up being the difference and showed that every player in the lineup matters.

Overall, the match came down to which team was able to perform in the biggest moments across the entire lineup. Both sides had stretches where they looked in control, but Berea-Midpark’s consistency in doubles proved to be the difference in the match. It was a competitive match from start to finish, with each point being important in deciding the outcome.
