BOWLING GREEN, OH – The Findlay Oilers baseball used their last offensive explosion to pull away from the Bowling Green Falcons baseball, securing a 12-7 victory in a back-and-forth contest that turned decisively in the final innings.
Findlay set the tone immediately in the first inning, jumping out to a 2-0 lead behind a two-RBI single from Issac Ramos. That early momentum carried into the third inning, where the Oliers delivered the knockout blow. A two-run home run from Luke Senften started the surge, and the lineup followed with relentless production.
RBI hits from Aiden Booth and Garret Given, along with a three-run homer by Mike Sciortino, capped off a seven-run inning that gave Findlay a commanding 9-0 lead.
The Oilers added another run in the fifth on an RBI double from Senften, extending the lead to 10-0 and putting Bowling Green in a deep hole.
The Falcons didn’t go quietly. They mounted their biggest response in the sixth inning, scoring five runs on a combination of walks, timely hitting, and a key two-RBI single from Griffin Scheiderer. The rally cut the deficit in half and shifted momentum. In the seventh, Brayden Curlis crushed a two-run home run to bring the Falcons within three at 10-7, suddenly making it a game again.
With the pressure mounting late, Findlay delivered once more. In the ninth inning, Aiden Booth came through with a clutch two-RBI single to extend the lead to 12-7, providing critical insurance runs.
From there, the Oilers’ bullpen shut the door, stranding three Bowling Green runners in the ninth to secure the victory.
Findlay’s explosive third inning proved to be the difference, as the Oilers piled up 12 runs on consistent offensive production throughout the lineup. Despite the strong late push from Bowling Green, the early deficit was too much to overcome as Findlay closed out an impressive road win.
