The North Olmsted Soccer Organization (NOSO) will be hosting a
Girls In Soccer program for all girls in grades 1-12 who play for
NOSO or go to school in North Olmsted.
Girls In Soccer will take place on Saturday, February 7 at North
Olmsted High School and is in conjunction with National Girls and
Women in Sports Day, an annual initiative of the Women’s Sports
Foundation to honor the achievements of female athletes, coaches
and leaders, and the power of sports to unlock their potential.
This event is free to participants and will include sessions on
soccer, sportsmanship, leadership, being a good teammate, and
the value of sports and culture. Participants will also be supporting
students in need in our community with donations of items to the
North Olmsted Middle School and Pine’s Eagle Closets.
From 1- 3:30 pm, groups will rotate through team building,
educational stations with coaches Marcie Schwartz, Jess Paul, and
DeAvion Anderson. Everyone will convene in the Performing Arts
Center at North Olmsted High School for a keynote speech by
Marcie Schwartz, Director of Coaching for the Ohio Travel Soccer
League. The day will conclude with small-sided soccer games in the gym.
