North Ridgeville Rangers Fall to Highland Hornets 48-0

Granger, OH – For the third year in a row, the D2R6 finals will feature the Highland Hornets.

In a game between two 10+ win teams, the Highland Hornets defeated the North Ridgeville Rangers 48-0 to keep their season alive.

On the first drive of the game, Highland marched down the field and would later score on a twelve yard run by quarterback Grady Gibb. After forcing a three and out on the Rangers, the Hornets had another productive drive that ended on a pass from Gibb to Lucas Gerding inside the red zone.

However, North Ridgeville didn’t quit immediately. Senior quarterback Cole Miller converted several third downs and put Ridgeville to the two yard line of Highland’s. But courtesy of a goal line stand, the Rangers came up empty handed. The Hornets would then take over and score on a Grady Gibb passing touchdown.

Gibb was the star of the show as he had six of the touchdowns for Highland on the night. Four of them were passing with two of them going to Gerding, one to Nick Dobkowski, and another to Jake Weber. The other two were rushing touchdowns with all of the touchdowns coming in the first half. Casey Myser added on to his Medina County record with a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

The running clock was in effect for the entirety of the second half. North Ridgeville had another drive that reached the red zone in the fourth quarter, but it ended on another turnover on downs. The Hornets pitched their fourth shutout of the season, with the others being against Hudson, Tallmadge, and Cuyahoga Falls.

Highland improves to 12-0 on the season and will take on the Avon Eagles for the third year in a row in the regional finals at a spot to be determined. The North Ridgeville Rangers end their season with a 10-2 record.
