AVON, OHIO – If you were one of the hundreds to show up to the pool today at “Every Child’s Playground” today in Avon, you no doubt had a fun time cheering on the swimmers in the massive competition. However, as you were more then likely driving around looking for a spot to park, you have surely noticed the beautiful Veterans Memorial at the north end of the parking lot. This breathtaking area is dedicated to honoring all of those who have served in defense of our country.
From there as you enter the memorial, you will see beautiful stone creations honoring those who served in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf War and The War Against Terror. You will also outstanding tributes to Patrick E Smith of the US Army, David F Schneider of the Marines and John “Mighty Mouse” Barelka of the Air Force.
The next time you’re at the park, stop over to this portion of the park and pay respects. Great job Avon!
