In the second quarter, freshman quarterback Ty Hurst found senior wide receiver Evan Teeling for a 35-yard touchdown reception to increase the lead to 10-0. Late in the first half, Roosevelt would get on the board when junior quarterback Kristian Daetwyler found senior running back Raheem Howard for a seven-yard touchdown reception to close the deficit to 10-7 going into the half.
Kent Roosevelt got the ball to begin the second half. They took advantage of a short field and junior quarterback Kristian Daetwyler rushed for a six-yard touchdown to put the Rough Riders up 14-10.
Later in the third quarter, Tallmadge was driving down the field before an interception by senior defensive back Tyler Heritage.
Roosevelt drove down to the ten-yard line, but the Tallmadge defense held the Rough Riders to a 27-yard field goal by senior kicker Josh Montanari to increase the lead to 17-10.

It was homecoming for Tallmadge, and a homecoming for head coach Alan Vanderink as well, having coached the Blue Devils last season.
“I’m proud of our guys and the way that we made adjustments in the second half. When you keep winning, the next game’s the most important game.” said Kent Roosevelt first-year head coach Alan Vanderink.
Kent Roosevelt improves to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the Suburban League American Division. They host Revere next Friday night to continue conference play.
“It’s frustrating. We feel like we played well enough. In the first half we played pretty well, and in the second half we had some opportunities to finish off some drives, and we threw a pick and had a fourth-down stop inside the 20. We didn’t capitalize, and they marched down the field and did. These were 14-point swings that happened twice and changed the complexion of the game completely.” said Tallmadge first-year head coach Mike Hay
Tallmadge drops to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Suburban League American Division. They travel to Copley next Friday night to continue conference play.
