As juicy as the 11 at 4 seed matchup of Holy Name at River was last Friday night, the juiciest part of that night was the grill at Rocky River High School. You can smell the open flames and smokey goodness all the way down Wagar and Detroit Roads. Those flame broiled cheeseburgers are a little piece of heaven, they truly are that damn good! It honestly reminds me of just how good Burger King “used to be!” You’re hooked from the first sniff and bite on!
You see, as a reporter, a lot of times I will be coming straight my day job, skipping dinner and heading directly to the gym or football stadium to cover someone else kids. Stopping for dinner is simply not an option most times, and the hunger begins to set in pretty quickly after arriving. That is where a good concession stand really comes in hand, and the folks at River have one of the best!
To go along with fresh popcorn and tasty hot dogs, are some of the very best grilled cheeseburgers you will ever place in your mouth. You can smell them from the time you park your car in the parking lot and begin to head towards the front gates in which they are being cooked.
Again, I cannot stress this enough, a guaranteed good meal is a sportswriters best friend on a night when he is pressed for time, and River High, serves it up! Even if you’re not a cheeseburger fan, they order pizza JJ’s which is easily the best place to get a pie on the Westside.
The staff at Kee On Sports gives the Rocky River Concession stand 5 out of 5 whistles for their amazing food service and selection!
