It would be Cody Haddad for Saint Ignatius to take it all the way for a house for a 7-0 lead. The Cardinals would quickly respond with a 78 yard rushing touchdown from Jackson Farley as he would just be getting started in this one.
Farley would go on and find the end-zone all three times for the Cardinals on the night with two rushing and one receiving touchdowns. He tallied 192 rushing yards on 22 carries. And oh yeah, he brought in 6 receptions for 40 yards as well.
The Cardinals would take a 13-7 lead with 3:36 left in the first quarter thanks to a 5-yard pass from Scotty Fox to Farley. This would be a duo that the Wild Cats defense has absolutely no answer for.
The Cardinals would hold onto their 13-7 lead until they extended it even more with Farley rushing for his third touchdown on the night. And with Mentor holding a 20-7 lead with 6 seconds left in the third quarter, it was all but over for Saint Ignatius who could not get anything going on offense outside of the run.
Wild Cats running back Grant Washington was the bright spot rushing for 142 yards on 20 carries.
It was an elite night from the Cardinals defense as they held the Wild Cats Quarterback Daniel Chalhoub to completing just 5 of his 16 passes for just 142 yards. The story of the night has to come from a 8:41 drive in the second quarter in which the Wild Cats got nothing out of it.
The Wild Cats last touchdown of the night would come from a 10-yards out as Quarterback Chalhoub kept it himself.
Farley was not the only play-maker on the Cardinals offense tonight. Justin Hodge stole the show for the receivers as he had 6 receptions tallying up to 78 yards. And you can not forget about Cardinals Quarterback Scotty Fox who had an efficient game as well going 18-30 for 200 yards with 1 touchdown.
Mentor came out on top 20-14 as Scotty Fox and the Cardinals ended their 4-game losing streak against the Wild Cats. Mentor improves to 2-0 on the season as Saint Ignatius falls to 0-2.
