ROCKY RIVER, OH- Rocky River came out firing to open up their matchup against Westlake Saturday afternoon. The 46-31 affair gave the Pirates a big conference win. The Pirates got support from their depth, as the stat sheet was filled from top to bottom.

Seniors Annika Mocho, Emmy Convery, Natalie Swallow, and Haddie Holton all contributed on their night, but it was actually Junior Ava Patti leading the way for the Pirates.

Patti came out attacking with 10 points in the first half driving the Pirates to a 26-8 halftime lead. Her night ended with 19 in the 15-point victory. Head Coach Chris Cogan raves about Patti postgame saying, “ She’s so strong. I love coaching her, she makes everything go for us and she did a great job again today.”

Along with Patti, Mocho (9), Convery (6), and Swallow (7) all helped out in the home win. Mocho, Convery, and Swallow all added notable shooting and high energy all game long.

After the game, Coach Pfahl had a lot to say bout his Seniors’ performance.

“I was so proud of them. They brought the energy today. We had a great energy today, and they came out strong… it was a great effort.”

On the other side, Junior Lauryn Stanton kept the Demons in the mix of things. Early in the second half Stanton had multiple crafty buckets, as she ended her night with 10 points.

Adding to Stanton’s double-figure game, the Demons got help from Junior guard Lydia Tymoszczuk, who added 9 points of her own. Along with Tymoszczuk, Annika Norris and Audrey Blood both contributed with 4 points for Westlake.

The player of the game goes to Ava Patti who could not be stopped all game. Her two big second half and-ones just about sealed the deal for the Pirates, who never looked back with momentum on their side.

  1. Wish we could say that about our coach, seems to not be able to win the big games. Program had high hopes when he came but I don’t even think he’s won a playoff game in his tenure with the Lady Demons.

      1. ☝️couldn’t agree with you more . Coach needs to put effort into being prepared and have a good game plan to excute.
