Bay High School Softball Falls To Rocky River 6-4

Bay Rockets out-hit Rocky River Pirates 11 to eight, but it wasn’t enough in a 6-4 loss on Wednesday

The Rockets got things moving in the first inning, when Katherine Shuster singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Rocky River took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Emily Satayathum singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Katie Mommers doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Mommers led things off in the circle for the Pirates. The righty surrendered four runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Grace Pierce started the game for Bay. The pitcher went six innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out four.

Bay Rockets collected 11 hits on the day.  Katherine Shuster, Sarah Haymond, Abbey McCready, and Mal Kaminski all managed multiple hits for Bay Varsity Rockets.  Katherine Shuster led the Rockets with four hits in four at bats.

Rocky River Pirates racked up eight hits in the game.  Kate Tlapa and Mommers each collected multiple hits for the Pirates.
