Result – 3 Fights cancelled
Reaction – The fights between Steve Garcia vs Damir Hadzovic, Su Mudaerji vs Manel Kape and Alexandr vs Romaov were all cancelled. Each having a different reason, but all very odd last second cancellations.
Good thing this was at the APEX, and not a sold out PPV show or the UFC would have had to deal with angry paid customers. However, even with that being said, this night was still incredible as the fights that went on were excellent and packed with solid finishes! A great night of fights!
Result – Mike Bell returns and wins,,, kind of
Reaction – So the fighter only known by taking a beating from Mickey Gall and giving one to CM Punk returned on the undercard tonight. He was booted from the UFC in June 2018 and hadn’t returned until tonight. He wasn’t exactly on his “A” game but will walk away the “winner” thanks in part to a eye gouge that got his opponent Dean Barry DQ’d in the first.
Result – Qileng Aori, Tyson Pedro and Sergey Khandozhko win by early KO and TKO
Reaction – These three stepped up big tonight and provided fireworks on the undercard to give the fans watching a nice reason to google their names, and learn more about them. Not exactly household names coming in, but they sure got our attention tonight didn’t they?
Result – Marc – Andre Barriaut puts Jordan Wright to sleep.
Reaction – Wright rushed in and got choked out with ease. Not much more to say then this one was a blowout!
Result – Charles Jourdan chokes out Lando Vannata in 2:32
Reaction – After the fight before them ended in 2:36, it was Jourdan beating that by 4 seconds as he submitted Vannata, once again with ease! For Jourdan, he has been shaky lately, going just 1 -2-1 in his last four fights before tonight. He needed a big win to stay relevant and got it.
Result – Maycee Barber defeats Montana De La Rosa by UD 30-27
Reaction – Maycee Barber once again reminded everyone she is much more than just looks with a convincing and dominant 30-27 win over the outmatched De La Rosa. Barber improved to 10-2 and continues to be a force in the flyweight division.
Result – Claudio Puelles submits Clay Guida by first round kneebar.
Reaction – Puelles has now won five fights in a row and wants a step up in competition. His next battle continues to be with Twitter as he wants that damn blue verification check. All joking aside, this guy has a personality and can fight as well! The Guida win is big, but I think this young man from Peru is giving everyone a fighter on the rise to watch!
Result – Jessica Andrade puts Lemos to sleep with a standing arm triangle
Reaction – Lemos was looking very good in the first until Andrade made the adjustments, got in close and locked in the choke just 3:13 into the fight.
Lemose was the real deal and one heck of a fight for Andrade who was making her return to the Strawweight division. It was the first standing arm triangle finish in UFC history. Big, big, big win for Andrade tonight!
