Bidwell, Ohio- The Athens Bulldogs took on the River Valley Raiders on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Raiders home field where the Bulldogs were looking to secure their spot in the playoffs.
The Athens Bulldogs scored two touchdowns with good extra points which put the Bulldogs in a 14-0 lead in the first quarter against the River Valley Raiders.
Marcus Stevers, scored a touchdown for the Bulldogs at the beginning of the second quarter, with a good extra point, advancing their lead to 21-0. The Bulldogs scored another touchdown with a good extra point which advanced the lead 28-0 with 6:44 to go in the second quarter. The Bulldogs scored another touchdown advancing the lead to 35-0.
The Athens Bulldogs scored three touchdowns in the second quarter, which put them in a solid lead, with a score of 35-0 at halftime. The Raiders hadn’t put a score on the board when the game was called due to lightning. With 1:01 to go in the second quarter, the game came to end because of the weather conditions. Athens 35, River Valley 0. Athens will be at home next weekend for senior night against Nelsonville-York.
