Cleveland Heights Stadium – The game started off slow because both defenses came to play. Strongsville senior quarterback Maddux Beard threw a touchdown pass to senior wideout Dylan Reid to finally break open the game. Strongsville led 7-0 with 4:06 remaining in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Strongsville Mustang Michael Novak scored on a run at the goal line to make the score 14-0. With less than four minutes left to go to halftime, Cleveland Heights junior quarterback Darreon Fair ran a quarterback keeper for a 30-yard touchdown giving the Tigers their first score. The Mustangs held the 14-7 lead at halftime.

Cleveland Heights wasted no time scoring with junior quarterback Darreon Fair’s big time 30 yard run for the touchdown tying the game at 14-14. Strongsville got the ball back and marched down the field with ease. The drive set up a run option touchdown play to senior wideout Dylan Reid, extending the lead to 21-14.

Strongsville kicked the ball off and the Cleveland Heights senior wideout Jermiah Dillard took it to the house for 99 yards making the score 21-21.

Cleveland Heights began gaining more confidence in the fourth quarter. Strongsville fumbled the ball with 4:28 seconds left in the game and Cleveland Heights capitalized on the ensuing drive. Fair threw a touchdown pass to senior wideout Jamarion Lanum with 1:16 left in the game.

With 1:16 left in the game and Strongsville on the ropes, the Mustangs had all three times remaining. They began moving quickly with the no huddle offense before Cleveland Heights had a big pass interference penalty.

The critical penalty set up a first and goal with a minute left in the game. Strongsville quarterback Maddux Beard ran a quarterback keeper to the end zone pushing the Mustangs ahead 27-26. Strongsville missed the PAT.

Strongsville’s defense held strong and sacked Flair to end the game 27-26.
