The WWE proved last month that they have no problems cutting lose former NXT World Champions (Andrade). Perhaps this is not the shock that people think.
I will say this for Joe, he was solid on commentary during RAW, and I could see him staying there long term. That part of this is a shock. Perhaps McMahon blames him for the sinking ratings, who really knows.
It all boils down to if he can still go in the ring? If so, he is a perfect fit for team Taz with ECW. If not, the two-man commentary team on Impact is horrendous with D-Lo and Matt Striker, Joe would be a natural fit there.
