2021 Lorain County Football Awards

Coach of the Year

Jason Ward of Columbia

Reason – What a terrific season the Raiders are having under the direction of Jason Ward.  This is perhaps the best they have looked since Brandon Coleman graduated a few years back.  They have a terrific backfield combination of Marco Cirigliano and Owen Menge that has combined to rush for over 2,000 yards this season.  They also have a solid quarterback in Andrew Champagne who has thrown for 1,425 yards as well.

Ward has done a tremendous job making sure everyone get’s their share of the touches, and they play aggressive right out of the gate.  They score early and often which leads me to believe that they game plan very well as well, as they don’t have to play from behind. Ward has them focused week in and week out where they take things one game at a time and focus on winning the week. The Raiders are an easy team to root for!
