Tiffany Stratton defends her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair
Recap & Result – This match was every bit as good as I thought it would be. I’m shocked that Stratton went over for the win, but women looked great and it more then made up for the awful build up to it.
Grade – A
The War Raiders defend the World Tag Team Championship vs The New Day
Recap & Result – The crowd was dead for the The War Raiders which makes the decision to put the belts on The New Day the smart choice. The WWE has a long way to go with their tag team division but at the very least, The New Day can provide some stability at the top.
Grade – C
Rey Fenix vs El Grande Americano
Recap & Result – A solid little match as Fenix was thrown in last second but the win for Gable keeps the entertaining angle going. Rey Fenix is just getting to started and few will ever remember this loss.
Grade – B
Jade Cargill vs Naomi
Recap & Result – Jade Cargill looks like a million dollars but wrestles like a Kmart Blue Light Special. Simply not good, if it wasn’t for Naomi to carry this match, it would have received a failing grade. Fans actually cheered Naomi the Heel early in this one because Jade was so bad. Making matters worse, each women combined to grab their boobs at least 45 times,. Every other second someone was pulling at their top. Awkward match despite Cargill getting the pin.
Furthermore, Cargill reminds me a lot of The Ultimate Warrior. Incredible look, subpar microphone skills and needs someone else to carry the entire match. If Cargill doesn’t learn to sell, she may have a very short stay in the WWE.
Grade – D+
LA Knight defends his United States Championship against Jacob Fatu
Recap & Result – WOW! Jacob Fatu in his first big PLE match, stole the show! An amazing performance from the big man who took the title off LA Knight. Both men looked good here as this match was absolutely incredible and was the perfect bounce back from the dud of Cargill and Naomi. Expect Knight to either turn heel soon, or win the MITB this summer.
Grade – A
Gunther defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso
Recap & Result – An emotional feel-good win for Jey Uso combined with a clean victory in the middle of the ring. Shockingly, not only did Jey win in convincing fashion, but Gunther tapped quickly once put in the Uso sleeper. Great match, great reaction, great finish! I have no idea why so many people on line are knocking this one, I truly enjoyed.
Grade – A
Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins vs CM Punk
Recap & Result – Paul Heyman turning against Roman Reigns and CM Punk to help Seth Rollins win may have been one of the most predictable things in many years, but it made perfect sense and was so well done it was hard not to get behind. The match itself was tremendous and leaves the storyline wide open moving forward.
Grade – A
