10 Superstars The WWE Will Release Next

The WWE promised big surprises this weekend as SummerSlam was held in Las Vegas in front of 55,000 people. Also, the last card of the current NXT Era was held with Take Over earlier tonight as well.  Each provided the surprising moments and twists not many saw coming.  There was a total of 6 title changes and now it is time to break those down.

Let’s get right down to the ones that jumped out the most to us and why we felt it went down that way.

RKO Bro win the Monday Night Raw Tag Titles

Despite being yet another tag team thrown together without much sense, creative placed the straps on them.  They are widely popular and will hold the belts for quite some time.  Eventually, I see a shocker occurring when it will actually be Riddle turning on Orton to begin that one on one feud.

Damien Priest wins the United States Championship

This was actually a pretty smart move.  Since coming up from NXT, Priest hasn’t done much more than clown around with The Miz & Morrison. It was time to get serious, and Priest is quite capable of carrying such a big title in WWE. I hope this reign allows him to shine like we know he can.

Becky Lynch returns and squashes Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship

There is a lot to breakdown here.  Where do I even begin?  For starters, the doors may be closing on Carmella in the WWE as they have made her a joke.  Yes, she is one of the sexiest women to ever enter WWE, but that is not enough to carry her through anymore.  The fans boo’d her out of the building and for good reason.  She is simply not good.

Two, where the Hell was Sasha Banks?  They spent all that time and energy building a much-anticipated rematch, not to have it and pull the plug at the last possible second.  That made zero sense. While I understand “shock” booking, I don’t understand stupid booking and this was silly.

Finally, as much I as love Becky Lynch, and the pop of her return was incredible.  Why in the world did they turn that into a squash match?  Who did Bianca Belair piss off backstage? I don’t get it, I just don’t.  They did Bianca wrong.

So now, you make Sasha look terrible in not showing up and you make Belair look even worse having her lose in 27 seconds. This could have been done so much better than it was.

Charlotte defeats Nikki ASH for the Raw Women’s Championship

This one is just downright obnoxious.  I’m not arguing with the fact that Charlotte is the best pound for pound women’s wrestler ever.  She is the GOAT!  However, why not have her capture the belt and hold on to it for a long time like her first ever title reign.  All these mini ones just don’t make any sense and seem cheap quite frankly.

She has 11 title reigns now, a staggering number.  But do any of them after the first one stand out?  Her first that started late into 2015 and went midway into 2016 was something to behold. Since then, it has been start, stop, start again and get cashed in on.  This one needs to go for a long time to make any sense as to why they ended Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley’s runs so short over the last 4 weeks.

I repeat, this was a horrible booking decision and as Ripley and Cross look weak and have nowhere to go after this.  Ripley was a beast in NXT and someone fans loved, now she is nothing more than a never was while Cross has become a total joke.  What was the point to any of this?

Also, let me take a short break from the “Title Swapping” theme of this article to point out a few quick other things.

The match between Goldberg and Lashley was a total joke as expected.  If you knew you had Brock Lesnar coming back, why not have him go after Lashley instead of Reigns? Thus, giving the fans a match and feud, they haven’t seen yet.

Speaking of returns, they spent thousands, maybe even millions on all those hype packages to bring Eva Marie back and she has been a disaster ever since. Not to mention the fact they give her a sidekick who turns on her within two months.  What a total disaster as meanwhile they cut serious NXT talent who could have thrived in that role?

Speaking of NXT, their Supercard NXT Takeover 36 had multiple title changes too, so let’s get to those on page two.
