WWE Summer Slam 2023 Recap & Reaction

WWE Summer Slam 2023 is in the books.  To the surprise of few, Jimmy Uso turned against his brother to cost him the title match against their cousin Roman Reigns.  For Reigns, his next big challenger appears to be LA Knight who won the battle royal earlier on the show.

Also retaining titles tonight were Seth Rollins over Fin Balor to retain his WWE World Heavyweight championship.  Damian Priest didn’t decide to cash in afterwards however.  Gunther will surpass Honkey Tonk Man for the longest IC reign ever, as he got past Drew McIntyre tonight.

The big surprise of the night came when Bianca Belair stunned Asuka to take the Womens Championship, only to lose it minutes after when Io Sky cashed in her MITB.

Cody Rhodes won the rubber match with Brock Lesnar, in what was perhaps the match of the night.  Finally, it was Logan Paul defeating Ricochet in front of his girlfriend Samantha Irvin.
